Dan Stoenescu (born November 4, 1980) is a Romanian political scientist and diplomat.


Dan Stoenescu has a BA in International Studies from Austin College, Texas (2003); MA in Globalization and Development at Warwick University, UK (2005); Graduate Diploma in Forced Migration and Refugee Studies at the American University in Cairo(2006) and a PhD in political science at the University of Bucharest (2008) on Modern Arab Nationalism and Islamic Identity after 1987.

Stoenescu taught courses on the Middle East at the Political Science Department of the University of Bucharest and is currently a diplomat in the Middle East and Africa division of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His main research interests include Arab nationalism, Islamic identity, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood.
