This just describes a video hookup cable. Is there an article for "NES RF switch"? How about "Xbox Advanced AV Pack"?--SkiDragon (talk) 04:51, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PS2 VGA support

Not sure why people keep saying the PS2 has no native VGA support when it does.

The PS2 was able to natively output VGA with the correct cable. The PS2 was only able to output a Sync-on-Green signal but it is still a valid VGA signal. The VGA adapter inside the PS2 Linux kit only supported SoG monitors due to this. Blaze manufactured a more complicated adapter which contained a sync separator circuit which allowed the use of monitors that did not support SoG. Generic VGA sync separators could also be used.

http://ps2-scene.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4015&stc=1 is the schematic of a PS2 VGA adapter that contained a sync separator circuit. It is equivalent to what is inside the Blaze VGA adapter. If the sync separator portion is removed then it would be equivalent to the official Sony VGA adapter. The RGB lines are all passed straight through from the PS2 input to the VGA output.

No argument against poor support however.
