Dr Roger Nokes is a Civil Engineering professor at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. In 2008 he was vote the best lecturer in the University. His specialty is in the area of Fluid Mechanics in which he has as undertaken a broad range of research.
He enjoys kyaking and chess.
In 1980 was the New Zealand Chess Champion.
