Actually, it's my collarbone that's broken, but close enough.

Hello! On Wikipedia, I spend a lot of time patrolling recent changes and new pages. If, while doing so, you believe I have made a mistake, please note:
  • Everyone makes mistakes, including (and sometimes, especially) me. Edits I revert, I generally revert as they appear to be vandalism of some sort. If you believe I have made a mistake, just undo my edit, and leave me a message pointing it out to me here. I'll be happy to work with you to fix it.
  • I am not here everyday. If you leave me a message and I don't respond immediately, don't panic! I will get back to you the next time I am online and see your message.
  • Finally, welcome! Please put new posts at the bottom of this page. Cheers!

Ideas for Talkpages

Do you have any ideas on how to make <u>my</u> talk page the perfect it can be? Look at it first and then answer on my talk page. Thanks.

Proposed deletion of HTMLayout

Hi! First off, thanks for doing the new pages patrol; at around about the same time, I saw you tag two articles for deletion - ArkvoodleNoodle1's Youtube Videos and HTMLayout. The former definitely deserves removal, but I think HTMLayout is a program which is indeed notable enough to be mentioned.

The page was red-linked from List of layout engines, and since I have a little experience with the component, I decided to put in a stub. Unfortunately there's not a lot that I can cite, so it's going to look fairly scant; I hesitate to put personal experience into the article page (although there's some personal-experience comments in the talk page). Is there any other way to provide information about something that, while freely available for anyone to grab so thus anyone (well, any programmer) can verify my information, does not actually have much third-party review - or at least, I haven't found it. Hopefully the stub marker will invite someone else to look it up.

Response to my talk page if poss pls, as I may not notice one here or on the HTMLayout talk page necessarily.

Competition cams speedy deletion?

Hello. I have been working with user Jabarke1 to improve the article Competition cams. I noticed that there were two other articles about the same company that were speedily deleted (one by you) under CSD:A7. The user seems very aggressive and the new article still reads as an advertisement. Do you think this would qualify to be deleted under CSD:G4 Recreation of deleted material? — Yavoh 16:02, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It would not qualify as G4, as that category only applies to articles deleted by the Afd process. However, I still think this article should be deleted as it currently stands, as it appears to be a mixture of advertising and non-notability. My suggestion would be to nominate the article for deletion via AfD. That way the community can offer its opinions. If the community agrees to delete the article, future (unimproved) incarnations of the article can be deleted via G4. I hope this helps. Cheers! TNX-Man 16:09, 19 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In responve to user Yavoh's comment, I am not aggressive. Rather, I have been harrassed by your thoughtless "speedy deletions", and am persistent to prove your opinion as personal, and not academic. As I told Yavoh, if my article is doing something wrong, please inform me IN DETAIL OR WITH SPECIFIC EVIDENCE of how and where I can correct it, or you can edit it for me. The entire article is researched, non-bias fact. I have edited the article today, and invite you to look it over once more (or once, in all likelihood) and provide me with your advice on how the article can be improved. Your persistence so far has been admirable, but it has also been bias and improper, to say the least. I would appreciate you keeping an open mind as an editor. Thank you.

Competition Cams Notability

  • Comment - The Competition Cams article has been completely rewritten and re-cited with new, more credible sources. I urge each of the editors that has previously voted against the articles notability, neutrality, etc. to please reconsider.

--Jabarke1 (talk) 22:02, 25 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Reply - I would like to apologize for my previous confrontational tone and express my sincere appreciation for your civility amidst an author's aggression. I put forth considerable effort to make edits to the article that would satisfy the complaints of senior editors, like yourself, and I am grateful that you took the time to notice this effort and accept it. Thanks again.

Vandalism?

Hello,

I am sorry to hear your collarbone is broken Tnxman307. I hope you recover quickly.

I recently added a factually correct update to the page for Southwest DeKalb High School, but you apparently found it to be "vandalism." Are you an alumnus of this school? Are you aware of its history? How might I be able to document this important part of the history of this school so it doesn't come across to you as vandalism?

Thank you very much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.242.255.189 (talk) 18:54, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like to add information to Southwest DeKalb High School, please make sure it is supported by reliable sources. All content must be neutral and verifiable. I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please let me know. Incidentally, have you thought about creating an account? Thanks! TNX-Man 18:59, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Well I will be back on Monday October 13th at about 7:30 a.m. Central Time(CDT) so just make a note of that. Thank you and I really appreciate you watching my page. Happy Editing!

Yes, you got it, that string is associated with Disney vandal sockpuppets. Daniel Case (talk) 16:22, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

City Girls

Why did you delete it??? It's a real band!!! And they did release a single called O.M.G and I've seen the video tons of times on the music channel, I think they released it on the 25th September.

Please tell me why it was deleted From Jonni Boi 16:15, 7 October 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonni Boi (talkcontribs)

It may be a real band, but they do not appear notable according to the guidelines set out at WP:BAND. TNX-Man 16:18, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay looks like I'm going to have to hope it get's a chart hit will that be ok to put on here then?Jonni Boi 16:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
If they do have a chart hit, an article about them would be perfectly acceptable. Cheers! TNX-Man 16:26, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

nightingale research foundation

you marked this for speedy deletion but it is a charitable organisation like ME Research UK with a board of trustees etc. It gave evidence to the Gibson parliamentary enquiry into ME/CFS. The foudner Byron Hyde is also notable. Not good at wikipedia articles- perhaps you can help??? I have stuck all the stuff I know in as I know these people personally. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harrythefish (talkcontribs) 18:05, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If the organization is notable, please review the guidelines on this page. Please also add reliable sources that show why the group is notable. Finally, read this handy guide on how to get your article started. Cheers! TNX-Man 18:08, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can if you'd like, but there's a lot to read though. I might be able to give you better advice if you tell me what you're interested in doing on Wikipedia. Would you like to edit articles? Adding a person

Dear Sir:

I saw some of your answers on the answer page for new people like me and I was wondering if you would help take down my speedy deletion for Joshua Schwadron or let me know how to change it to make it conform with the site. I believe he meets the notability requirement and I am aware of something very notable happening in the near future. LEC36 (talk) 14:24, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked at the article, but it really needs a lot of help. Are there any other sources you could list that show why he is notable? In regards to your comment about something notable happening soon, please be aware that Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Talking about future events without solid sources is a risky business. To sum up, adding sources and indicating why he is notable is your best bet to get this article kept. I hope this helps! TNX-Man 14:36, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that future notability means nothing, but I thought he was already notable enough for the site. Then, when that event happens, I can be the first to post it! He has already been named by GQ magazine as college man of the year - the only time GQ has ever done that. He was on Fear Factor Las Vegas - he also was interviewed by VH1 for its behind the scenes Fear Factor edition and was nominated by VH1 for reality tv star of the year. is that not notable enough? LEC36 (talk) 14:45, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds great - the next step is to add it to the article with the relevant sources. The part about GQ would be good, especially if it's the only time the magazine has named a BMOC. But sourcing is everything. For the moment, it looks like your article is out of the woods, but don't let that stop you from improving it. Cheers! TNX-Man 14:51, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So sorry - last question I promise. When you say relevant sources - I included 2 sources for the GQ, one from the Journal of Higher Education, one of the most well respected Journals in the academic world. What other relevant sources could I add? When you say improving it because it is in the woods, could you explain? Can you help me improve it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LEC36 (talkcontribs) 14:59, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, when I say "out of the woods" I mean that it looks OK for now. The sources you provided look like this. The first is an interview with the subject. So far so good. The second source requires a subscription to view, so I'm not sure how reliable it is. The third source is just a news blurb. Are there any sources that provide in-depth coverage? The first source is closest to that. Cheers! TNX-Man 15:23, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your continual advice and guidance. My article, Joshua Schwadron, recently got tagged with it may not be notable tag. I am still confused on what sources to add. A lot of the sources I found, are only viewable by paid subscription, like the Detroit Free Press. Would it help the submission if I have more biographical information. In your opinion do you not think this is notable enough for the site? Help! Thanks. LEC36 (talk) 14:50, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Adding sources that are only viewable with a subscription is tricky because other editors can't be sure what the article says. If there are any other mentions of Schwadron in free articles, add those in as well. You can add in more biographical info, but be sure to read this guide. Wikipedia has to be very careful with information on living people. So long as you're careful, feel free to keep expanding the article. I hope this answers your question! TNX-Man 15:09, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess I am confused as if the notability question that has been raised is because the things listed are not notable enough or if they are notable enough but just not cited enough. There are 4 citations, 2 for each claim. Can you be more specific in letting me know what I should do to achieve the notability requirement. Thanks. LEC36 (talk) 16:55, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's the number of references provided, but rather the quality of the references. See the reliable sources guide for more info. As I mentioned earlier, it does appear (to me) that this person is notable. The person who added the {{notability}} template to the article doesn't agree. If you think the tag is unwarranted, you can remove it if you like. The specific guidelines for the notability of people can be found here. Read through it and see if the article matches up with the guidelines. That's the best and quickest way to improve your article. I hope this helps! TNX-Man 17:43, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for all your help and guidance

Dear Tnxman307, I really appreciate your help with the stub page Necessary Heartbreak. Any additional advice you may have regarding keeping off a notability tag would be really helpful. Thanks again - CS Conniesmall (talk) 13:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC) [reply]

The notability tag has been added to the article because another editor does not think the subject is notable enough to be included. The best way to address these concerns is to A) review the notability guideline for books, which can be found here and B) add reliable sources that demonstrate the notability. For books, your best bet would be independent reviews or evidence that the book made a top-seller list. I hope this helps! TNX-Man 13:15, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

4 the request of an article about Mark Capon: U said that the page was a mostly blank bio. It was my intention, because I was asking for someone to make the page for me.
