Mount Pleasant High School is a comprehensive public high school in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, United States, in the Cabarrus County Schools system. It opened in 1928.

General information

Mount Pleasant offers a full range of core classes in alignment with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for secondary schools. In addition, Mount Pleasant offers a wide range of Advanced Placement courses. As the lone rural high school in Cabarrus County, its horticulture and agricultural science programs are the largest in the county.

The original Mount Pleasant High School is located on Highway 49 near downtown Mount Pleasant - that facility is now the home to Mount Pleasant Middle School. The current facility for Mount Pleasant was opened in 1991.

The oldest teacher STILL alive that now works at Mount Pleasant Middle School is: Carolyn Cline.

Athletics

Mount Pleasant's athletic teams are known as the Tigers. The Tigers are placed in the 2A classification of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) and compete in the Rocky River Conference. The school values interscholastic football, basketball, baseball, golf, cross country, track and field, tennis, swimming,volley,softball, wrestling, and soccer. The football team won its lone state championship in 1964. The tennis team won its lone state championship in 1991. In 2000, the Tigers men's basketball team won its first conference championship since 1966.
