San Martín Sacatepéquez is a municipality in the department of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. The town is also known as San Martín Chile Verde, due to the large quantity of green chili peppers its farmers grew and brought to Quetzaltenango to sell[1]. San Martín Sacatepéquez is notable for its proximity to Laguna Chicabal, a crater lake and Mam Maya holy site, as well as for the colorful traditional garb (known in Guatemala as traje) still wore by the men who still follow their peoples' traditions. Most Mayan men throughout Guatemala have adopted Western clothing.
