Canada-airport-stub

At WikiProject Stub sorting, I recently proposed a template {{Canada-airport-stub}}. If there are no objections by tomorrow, the template has been cleared and I will create the template and matching category. As far as I know, it's not possible to sort the stubs alphabetically, unfortunately. Aecis praatpaal 09:51, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't worry, there are many Canadian airports in {{NorthAm-airport-stub}}. The ones you are about to create or move can be resorted to the new stub category in one go. So there's no problem if you create more stubs. Aecis praatpaal 17:45, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • There is no bot, it's all manual work. There are probably 100 to 200 stubs about Canadian airports, which is not much. I don't know the exact number, because I'm still sorting out Category:Airport stubs. There might be some more lurking in there. Aecis praatpaal 18:06, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re-sorting is about as easy as it gets. It's simply copy-pasting the template tag with a small notice in the edit summary ("Stub" usually is enough). Even the most overpopulated stub categories can easily be emptied in a few hours. The reason {{Airport-stub}} is taking a bit longer is because of other activities on wikipedia and in real life, but at 1,180 articles originally, it would have taken perhaps 4 to 5 hours of diligent work to empty the category. Wow. Well done in moving the Canadian airports to Canada-airport-stub. We'll see if there are any more Canadian airport stubs in airport-stub, but I don't think you've missed many ;) When I proposed the stub, I never imagined there would be so many Canadian airports. Are you in Cambridge Bay? I have visited CamBay's website and it has info about the town, but one of the glaring omissions is a map of the town showing the streets. Canadaka.net Links

I can see how you would think my links were spam, but I only places them on Canadian articles were i though it was relevant and useful. FOr example on the Canada politics page there is a external link to "Maple Leaf Web" how is that any different than a link to "Canadian Forums"?

Hi. Just a quick note to say that the edit by 195.250.105.254 which you reverted on Terra (world) wasn't vandalism. In Warhammer 40,000, the full name of the world is Holy Terra, due to the presence of the Immortal God Emperor of Mankind on Earth. No harm done, though and I've now integrated the change slightly. Removal of the SPF Crest

I refer to your comment dated 21 Dec on the above subject.

I am writing on behalf of my organisation, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) with regards to your webpage posting on the SPF's history. We noted that there were no requests seeking consent for the use of our SPF crest for use on this website. All requests to use the SPF crest will have to be submitted formally, either via our webmaster or in writing, to the head of the organisation. Each request will be assessed on a case basis.

We have previously written to Huai_Wei (the initial publisher of this wiki) on 24 Nov, informing him of the unauthorised use of image (i.e. SPF crest) and likely, information from our publications. We did not receive any acknowledgement to date. We are in the process of checking the content posted on the history of the SPF in your website to see if there are any infringement of published information that is copyrighted.

We will be seeking our legal counsel's advice regarding the unauthorised used of our corporate logo and information published by the SPF. While we acknowledge and appreciate the interest in our organisation's rich heritage, and the promotion of such knowledge in the interest of both academic and personal research, we believe that the individuals who sought to use such information should responsibly seek clearance and consent for use accordingly. Until such time, please refrain from posting the SPF crest on the website.

About the weather station with snow, I know what you are talking about. But, I can't remember what the title is for the article...I am trying to remember if it was located in Antarctica or Greenland...it had a nice photo though.

Manitoba airport articles

I'm curious where you get the data to create the various airport articles. The Morden Airport article caught my eye.
