Samuel Taylor Darling (born April 6 1872, Harrison, New Jersey; died May 21 1925, Beirut) was an American pathologist and bacteriologist who discovered the pathogen Histoplasma capsulatum in 1906.[1] He died in Beirut in a car accident together with British malariologist Norman Lothian[2] [3][4]. The 'Darling Prize' for malaria research was established in his memory.[2]
