Nathaniel Gray Smith Hart was a lawyer, brother-in-law to Henry Clay and a Captain during the War of 1812. He was killed during the aftermath of the Battle of Frenchtown known as the River Raisin Massacre. Hart County, Kentucky is named in his honor. [2] [3] Nathaniel G. S. Hart's name (not G.T.)
