Please stop Zsinjbot (at least for now)

Your bot has changed several {{helpme}} templates in welcomes that were marked with <code> and { instead of { . Please halt its progress in doing so so that no more users are erroneously listed as needing help. Jfingers88 02:09, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I blocked User:ZsinjBot temporarily and then unblocked - just to stop it operating. Do not operate User:ZsinjBot again, until we can discuss the situation. --Commander Keane 02:47, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: ZsinjBot

I'd love to discuss it. I've previously recieved a message from Jfingers88 stating me of the problem. I immediately stoped it's operation. After analyzing the problem edits, as noticed in the pause in the contributions, I then resumed ZsinjBot doing every edit manually. I might have been going too fast, hence the autoblock, for which I appologize. If there is anything else you would like to discuss, we can do it here on your talk page. --ZsinjTalk 02:49, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would rather we discuss here, since there may be other parties involved. As you know, I have lifted the block (including autoblocks). How did you make the errors that substituted all the Welcome message things incorrectly? How can you ensure it doesn't happen again?--Commander Keane 02:54, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You also screwed up (as a person, not bot) again with this edit. Can you use the show preview.--Commander Keane 02:56, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the "screwed up" language, it wasn't very nice but I was rather tired of thinking people needed help in Category:Wikipedians_looking_for_help only to find it was an error. I guess you can continue your one week trial of the bot - as long as you don't make any more errors. You will also have to explain what happened today at your bot request.--Commander Keane 03:24, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to help. I hope your bot works out ok in the end. Keep up the good work, and if the bot doesn't pass inspection, you can always fix up the code some more to prevent further errors. Jfingers88 03:43, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have the template:test in my userpage personally just because I want to be able to store some templates there I might need, is there any way you could restrict the bot to user talk pages?--BigCow 17:30, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proxy IP

Hello! This proxy IP user user: 65.19.174.35 was recently banned, but it has just posted again here. How is this possible? Stefanp 18:53, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ditto on user: 207.165.158.3. He's vandalised two articles since being banned[1], including a potentially racist statement. Tewfik 15:47, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok if I leave you to sort out in whatever way you think is appropriate (remove, archive etc) the reports you've commented on? I assume you aren't an admin (as you could have blocked or otherwise for 3RR)? Anyway great to have more people helping out over their. Petros471 19:55, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS. Don't think I'm trying to 'own' that page, it's just that not many admins seem to pay a huge amount of attention to that page! Petros471 19:55, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct: I am not an admin. I'm active on other pages similar to WP:RFI, for instance WP:AIAV and WP:OP, and enjoy helping out in cases such as these. It would be nice to find an admin to actively browse that page and carry out the suggestions we make. :-) --ZsinjTalk 17:05, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed! Thanks for your help. Petros471 11:27, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your friendly neighborhood "subst"

Zsinj, Thanks for the heads-up on using "subst". I'm a template novice and am still learning the ins-and-outs. :-) Thanks again! Schmiteye 00:17, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh...so how do I go about "fixing" the ones I did wrong? Should I revert and then do it the correct way? Thanks! Schmiteye 00:43, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whomp/Good Kitty on WP:RFI

I received the following message, and I thought you'd better see it as well (because you made the edits listed).

Hi, Petros471. I was looking through the page history of WP:RFI and I saw that a complaint left by Whomp ended up being misattributed to Good kitty. No big deal, of course, but I thought I would let you know so you could make sure you sent replies to the right person. —Veyklevar 05:47, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about it, we all make little mistakes like that sometimes. Also a general bit of advice from what I've found on RFI- the simplest looking requests can often turn out to be some of the more complicated, so everything needs proper attention. I also archived a report that you commented should be, feel free in future to do so yourself if you think that is appropriate. Petros471 08:50, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mines45

Hello. In response to my request at Wikipedia:Requests for investigation, you issued a warning to User:Mines45. Mines45 has not edited since receiving the warning; however, an anonymous editor has made the same changes that Mines45 repeatedly did (Mines45, Anonymous). I don't know if the anonymous user is a sockpuppet, but it seems possible. Thank you. McPhail 16:28, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

I noticed that you tagged the page BuySell Real Estate for speedy deletion with the reason "this is advertisement". However, "this is advertisement" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use WP:PROD if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 16:29, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you check that page's history, i simple reverted the removal of that. An anon IP tagged that page. --ZsinjTalk 16:36, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks for letting me know. The anon has now been notified. Stifle (talk) 16:38, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Question

Well that particular image was probably a borderline case, but it looked like it might possenbly be a user image so I listed it on IFD rather than choosing between taking the "risk" of tagging it as {{GFDL-presumed}} and having someone yell at me for speedying an "obviously" free image. --Sherool (talk) 19:17, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks from Petros471

For a more general RfA thanks to all voters see User:Petros471/RFA Thanks.

You've got a couple of admins now who've promised to help out with RFI :) I'm sure you'll be due for admin fairly soon- I'd be delighted to nominate you after you've got a little more experience (as people will probably oppose now based on months). Let me know when you want me to take a more serious look at your contributions. Thanks, Petros471 20:55, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bob Newman revert

Did you look at the talk page before reverting? There is a history to this dispute. -- Mwanner | Talk 00:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You wrote "articles cannot be too long without being long-winded, which is a characteristic I do not see in this article".
OK, to each his or her own. Personnaly, I think its a pile of fluff, but I'm confident that over time, concensus will develop one way or the other. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 00:26, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Zsinj, for the good faith you showed in judgement on Mr. Newman's page, and for your wisdom in a person so young of age. BTW, I'm curious if either you or Mwanner have listened to Mr. Newman on the radio ...--FairNBalanced 07:22, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving on WP:RFI

Just to let you know I'm going to archive some of the older requests, including some you commented on, as nothing more seems to be happening with them and the list is getting rather long again. Feel free to retrieve them from the archive if you are still doing work on them. Cheers, Petros471 10:57, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help Request of Ardenn

Online and ready to respond to any queries you may have stemming from Ardenn's help request. — WCityMike (T | C) 01:55, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you revert edits on BI?

I am not deleting sections, but rather moving them, as I discussed on the edit. What is your point?molly bloom 18:19, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

Please do not accuse me of vandalsim when i am correcting the vandalism form other users.--CopperTopOnTheEdge 22:36, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WTF?

I was rolling back a copyvio... why did you revert and call it "blanking"? --216.162.81.162 23:30, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with subst

Please take a look at this edit by your bot: [2]. This is wrong. I've reverted this particular instance. --Stephane Charette 07:12, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
