Barrack Young Controllers Football Club is a football club based in Monrovia, Liberia. History has shown that the club, Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) can be traced as far back as the late 60s with some great Liberian players such as the famous Jogar Weaka Gayflor Tarpeh- former Deputy Police Director and so many others. A renowned journalist once said “BYC is still living after all these many years, “which brings to mind that this great club has a long history. As a way to keep the name of the club still going on, this re-juvinated BYC was re-established in the year 1997 in the BTC Barrack area by a son of one AFL soldier by the name J.B. As a means of taken their minds off the war and trying to make them into future leaders, Benedict Tweh commonly known as J.B.decided to put the sons of old AFL soldiers and those who were no longer in the position to help their kids to playing football. Knowing that his task (putting war ravished kids together to play soccer)was going to be a tedious one, he decided to get around people with his same ideology .It was from there that he contacted Mr.Fonigay Massalay who became the first President of the re-established BYCFC. After a series of community games and awareness for dwellers to support the club, the President then decided to register the team in the Central Monrovia Fourth Division league. During the period of the league, the club was able to clinch the Fourth Division Championship during her first year (league season). S time went by, the team started to gain fame, most notably during her third division year. The team was not privilege to quality for the National Play –off, played amongst third division teams all around the country.BYC was able to represent another club from Central Monrovia that was not able to partake due to lack of funds. As a determined and youthful side the club was able to qualify for the grand final of the playoff by clinching the championship. At that time, the President had travelled to the united Sates with his immediate family leaving the team with other family members and friends in the person of Mr.Mansaray, Mustapha Waritay (who later became president of the club) and the savior of the club, Mr. Sekou W.Konneh. The team had made history and it was time for another league season, the LFA second division league. Mr.Mansaray had said that he no longer had the strength that is financial capability to carry on with the team; it was there and then that Mustapha Waritay took over as president of the club. During the reign of Mr.Waritay, who was ably assisted by the Messiah of the club (Sekou W” Ayatola” Konneh) BYC began to extend her authority in Liberian Football. After spending few years with the club as president, Mr.Waritay decided that he no longer wanted to serve in that capacity due to his very busy schedule, so it was then that Mr.Sekou Konneh, the man who has brought great pride and dignity to this club decided to take the mantle of authority of this club, thus making it one of the greatest club in Liberian history. During the first year of his reign, Mr.Konneh decided to include the likes of Hon Kai Farley (one of the ex-president of the club) Pastor Natt, Alex Smith, and others to help in the area of administration.
