Hyatt Regency Orlando
The Peabody Orlando is a hotel located next to the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, and is a brand extension of the original Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee. The 31-story, 1641-room hotel was originally constructed in 1986.[1] Opened in late 2010, a $450 million renovation of the hotel added a 32-story building and resort amenities.[2] The expansion tower, standing at 428 ft (130 m), is the second tallest building in Orlando only being surpassed by the SunTrust Center downtown.[3]
Sale of Hotel
On August 28th 2013, UST Hotel Joint Venture Ltd. announced the sale of the Peabody Orlando hotel for $717 million, to Hyatt Hotels. The hotel is expected to rebrand to the Hyatt Regency sub-brand of Hyatt Hotels.[4]
