The Higher Courses of Film Directors and Scripwriters (Russian: Высшие курсы сценаристов и режиссёров (ВКСР)) is an independent from the state educational establishment in Russia which offers graduate education, as well as second graduate professional education in cinematography. Established in 1963, but tracing its history back to 1956, the Higher Courses is the oldest school in Russia for people with higher education to provide professional education in major cinematographic occupations: film director, scriptwriter and producer.[1]
