A Zenair CH701 STOL light aircraft

The Zenith CH701 is a light, two place aircraft designed by Chris Heintz. The CH701 first flown in 1986 and is still produced as of July, 2006.

Although the plane has been manufactured in the past by the Czech Aircraft Works (CZAW), the majority have been built from kits. The kit is produced and distributed by the Zenith Aircraft Company.

Designed for off runway usage many features like an all flying rudder, flaperons and inverted elevator (aircraft) contribute to the STOL capabilities.

Pilots may fly the 701 under LSA rules.
