Thomas Sydney Battersby (18 November 1887 – 3 September 1974) was a British freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics and 1912 Summer Olympics. He was born in Platt Bridge.[1] In the 1908 Olympics he reached the semifinals in the 400 metre freestyle and won a silver medal in the 1500 metre freestyle. Four years later he reached the semifinals in the 400 metre freestyle and 1500 metre freestyle. He was also a member of British 4×200 metre relay team, which won a bronze medal.[1]
