Gordon College is a nationally-ranked four-year, nondenominational Christian liberal arts college on Boston’s North Shore. The college offers 36 majors in the liberal arts and sciences. It also offers graduate programs in education and music education. In recent years, Gordon has won national recognition for its general excellence, the high caliber of its faculty and its role in character building.

Gordon College is a member of the Christian College Consortium.

Gordon College has a student body of approximately 1600 undergraduates, and offers a number of challenging academic programs for students seeking to integrate Christian faith and academic discipline. At any moment, classroom discussions and academic papers can reference God, the Bible, or other Christian teachings as true with no consequences posed by the college or by other students. Christian morals are upheld in student life, as students are not allowed to drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes anywhere on campus. Compared to other Christian colleges, Gordon could be considered lenient in it's restrictions on students. For instance, there is no dress code, and the visitation policy allows young men and women to visit in each other's residence halls almost every night. Penalties are in place for those who break the code of conduct. As part of their education, students are required to attend Chapel on Mondays and Wednesday. Vans transport students without cars to church on Sunday mornings. On Sunday nights, students can voluntarily participate in Catacombs, a student led worship service of quiet music in the darkened chapel.

Recently the college became more widely known thanks to a video on Google videos of a live performance of Super Mario Bros. during the Golden Goose talent show.

Barrington College merged with Gordon College in 1985.
