Michal Irani (Hebrew: מיכל איראני) is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.[1]

Education

Irani received her Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She was a member of the Vision Technologies Laboratory at the Sarnoff Research Center (Princeton) from 1993 to 1996.[2]

Research

Her major research interests are in computer vision, image processing, and artificial intelligence. In particular, her research focusses on understanding the internal statistics of natural images and videos, the space-time analysis of videos, and on visual inference by composition. She developed an approach that uses only a small number of available visual examples and composes and integrates them into new global visual configurations which were never seen before.[3]
