Drexel Law[edit]

- the first law school in the country to be started by a major private doctoral university in 30 years! Go to: <a href="http://www.drexel.edu/law">http://www.drexel.edu/law</a>

There are lots of reasons for you to come to Drexel:[edit]

Regardless of copyright issues, this is a blatant advertisement, bearing no resemblance to an encyclopedic article. If the school merits an article, a new one will need to be written from scratch. Fan-1967 16:02, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am confused. I used a page already formatted in HTML we are using - just as a "get started" place. What do I do now - please advise? Thanks.

reply[edit]

There are several problems with this page.

  • It is a copyright violation. You can not 'get started' by copying and pasting someone else's copyrighted text. If you want to create an article, you have to write it yourself.
  • The text you're using is an advertisement, and Wikipedia is an encyclopedia- advertising gets deleted.
  • There's already a good page for Drexel University College of Law, and that's where any new information you have about the college should go.

I recommend that you don't waste any more energy on this page, and go read Drexel University or Drexel University College of Law to see if there's anything important missing there. Thanks. -FisherQueen 16:09, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If there's already an article on Drexel University College of Law, then I see no reason for this one to exist at all. Fan-1967 16:10, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree entirely. I think the creator is just new to Wikipedia and didn't know how to search for it. Frankly, the Drexel University College of Law page looks like it could do with a bit of updating, and the creator's energy would be more useful there.-FisherQueen 16:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A couple points: HTML doesn't work here. I've left a welcome with links to formatting guide on editor's Talk page. Also, editor needs to learn about Neutral Point Of View. Nothing about "we" are a great school or "you" should come "here". All articles should appear as if written by a totally disinterested, independent, third-party. I've redirected this title to the existing article, which appears quite out-of-date, as it discusses the school in the future tense. Fan-1967 16:15, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
