Pirates of the Caribbean:Jack Sparrow is a series for young readers of 9-12 written by Rob Kidd. The series are prequels to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. The series feature the characters, Jack Sparrow, Fitzwilliam, Arabella, Jean, Tumen, Constance, Torrents, Left Foot Louise, Madame Minuit, Tim Hawk, and Mr. SilverBack the brutal pirate. The series contains the titles, The Coming Storm, The Siren Song, The Pirate Curse, The Sword of Cortez, The Age of Bronze, Silver, City of Gold, The Timekeeper, and Dance of the Hours.


Release Dates: The Coming Storm was released June 2006, and so was the Siren Song, The Pirate Curse August 2006, The Sword of Cortez October 2006, The Age of Bronze December 2006, Silver is due for Febuary 2007, City of Gold April 2007, The TimeKeeper, June 2007, Dance of the Hours either August or October 2007 still unconfirmed.More books are yet to follow.

Plot/Summary:The Coming Storm: Adventure-seeking teenager Jack Sparrow has assembled a motley crew, and they're on the quest of a lifetime. Their goal: to locate and procure the legendary Sword of Cortez,which will grant them unimaginable powers.But will this ragtag team of adventurers survive their first mission, or will they succumb to the power of the sea, vicious pirates, ancient curses, and stormy threats from the forces of nature?

The Siren Song:Captain Jack Sparrow's ship, the Barnacle, and its up-till-now unshakable crew have suddenly fallen under a sinister spell. While continuing their quest for the storied Sword of Cortez, the crew suddenly finds itself entranced by an ethereal song. As a result, each of them attempts to take the Barnacle in a different direction- and away from the Sword's supposed location. Only Jack seems unaffected by the strange song, but can he both subdue his crew and defeat the mysterious force behind the dark spell?

The Pirate Curse:Jack and company are hot on the trail of the notorious pirate, Left Foot Louise, who they believe is currently in the possession of the Sword of Cortez.But chasing down a fierce seafarer is challenging, even for Jack's formidable crew.

The Sword of Cortez: Jack and his crew finally have the Sword of Cortez, and godlike powers will soon be his,but dangers await at every turn, including the return of some scaly antagonists, the great conquistador Cortez himself, and a Caribbean snowfall.

The Age of Bronze: With their recent quest for the legendary Sword of Cortez complete, Jack and his crew take a break on their mate Tumen's village on the Yucatan Peninsula. But when a charmed amulet goes missing, Jack and the crew become the prime suspects.Can the crew clear their good names and conquer the dangerous duo who they believe to be the real thieves? And what exactly is the mystical power that the amulet holds? Jack and the crew of the Barnacle are about to find out.

Silver:As it turns out, Arabella's mother is alive and well, and living a pirate's life-alongside the feared captain Left Foot Louise. Shocks abound as more is learned about the Barnacle's new crewmate, Tim Hawk,and the crew faces their most dangerous foe yet- The powerful Mr. SilverBack. All this, plus the mystery of the amulet continues.
