The first large outdoor rock music festival was at Ngaruawahia, 1973, in the central North Island, New Zealand. The largest ever was in Golden Valley, 1979, just north of Waihi.
Proposed additions
"There are regular jazz, folk, ethnic and country music awards and festivals, some of which have been in existence for decades. Large music festivals, for example Sweetwaters Music Festivals, Nambassa and The Big Day Out, have been staged periodically since the 1970s." Nancy Swarbrick. The farmland close to the Parihaka Marae is turned into an international festival each year with music and markets. January 2007 saw 7000 visitors with Dave Dobbyn headlining the main stage. There were two smaller stages and a speakers forum that were all well attended. Wood and Rock carvers worked on their pieces throughout the 3 day festival. A gallery of photographs by Paul Moss are available here.

Revision as of 10:02, 10 October 2008

Protected User:XLinkBot/RevertList has been protected so that only administrators may edit it due to its high sensitivity.
To request a change to it, please list a request here.

User:XLinkBot/RevertList is meant to be used by User:XLinkBot. Unlike the meta spam blacklist and the local spam-blacklist, the revertlist does not disable the use of a link, but its addition gets reverted if there is significant inappropriate use (by unestablished editors). Any administrator may edit the RevertList and the accompanied override and lock-lists (User:XLinkBot/OverrideList, User:XLinkBot/HardOverrideList, User:XLinkBot/UserLocks, User:XLinkBot/PageLocks.

Dealing with requests

Any admin unfamiliar with this page should probably read this first, thanks
1. User:XLinkBot generally reverts only new users (users who created an account less than 7 days ago), and IP-users, hence, users which are generally not familiar with our Policies and guidelines. This can be altered by the settings and override and lock lists.
2. Does the link generally get used in an inappropriate way by unestablished users, but does it not qualify for the meta spam blacklist or the local spam-blacklist since there are documents on the same server that should/could be used as an external link or reference?
3. Make the entry at the bottom of the list (before the last line). Please do not do this unless you are familiar with regex — the disruption that can be caused is substantial.
4. Close the request entry on here using either done or not done as appropriate. The request should be left open for a week maybe as there will often be further related sites or an appeal in that time.
5. Log the entry. Warning: if you do not log any entry you make on the blacklist, it may well be removed if someone appeals and no valid reasons can be found. To log the entry, you will need this number - 244341335 after you have closed the request. See here for more info on logging.

There are 4 sections for posting comments below. Please make comments in the appropriate section. The sections are: Proposed additions, Proposed removals, Troubleshooting and problems, and Discussion. Each section has a message box with instructions. In addition, please sign your posts with ~~~~ after your comment.

Flickr.com

Free hosting site for images, not sure about abuse, therefore posting here to monitor:

Comment Some images on Flickr are hosted under a Creative Commons Licence. Some of those (not all) are suitable for use on Wikipedia. Blocking of this site could create problems for existing images uploaded to Wikipedia, and prevent future images being used when they may be needed to illustrate an article. Mjroots (talk) 11:13, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
This is not blocking, this is reverting inappropriate additions, which, I am afraid, is true for most of the additions by unestablished editors of domains on this list. If they are needed, they can be re-added by reverting the bot, etc. etc. Also, the image namespace is not reverted by the bot. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:07, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Nope, it will now automatically revert it when an unestablished editor (including IPs) are adding it, anyone older than 7 days can add it without problems. As you say that the site does have some info, this seems to be a good site for on this list. I am afraid that someone will have to go through all the pages that now use the link, and clean those which are inappropriate. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:19, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
