Once an editor (and it wasn't you, it was one before you)disturbs a consensus, the section quickly grows with lots of editing. Then I'm sure folks will want to condense again. Such is wikipedia. My main goal is that no content is deleted. So I'll wait a day or two and then look it over when things calm down a bit. I generally don't delete content unless, as with Ferrylodge, folks insist on deleting content because it's "too long."
