The ahuru (Auchenoceros punctatus) is a species of morid cod found in waters off the eastern coast of New Zealand and to the south as well as in the Cook Straight. It is found at depths of from 5 to 420 metres (16 to 1,378 ft). This species grows to a length of 13 centimetres (5.1 in) TL. It is the only known species of its genus.
