a.rawlings is a poet, editor, and multidisciplinary artist who has presented and published work across Canada and the US. In 2001, Angela received the bpNichol Award for Distinction in Writing when she graduated from York University. Since then, she has worked with a variety of literary organizations, including The Mercury Press, The Scream Literary Festival, Sumach Press, Word: Canada’s Magazine for Readers + Writers, and The Lexiconjury Reading Series. She has lead youth-oriented creative writing workshops for terminus1525.ca, the Toronto District School Board, and the Toronto Public Library system.

In 2005, Angela hosted the poetry documentary series Heart of a Poet. She is also co-editor of Shift & Switch: New Canadian Poetry (The Mercury Press, Fall 2005), an anthology featuring over forty emerging poets from across the country. Angela’s creative work has been published by literary journals across North America, and her first book-length collection of poetry, Wide slumber for lepidopterists (Coach House Books), will be published in Spring 2006. Angela also actively works in theatre and dance.
