The Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) has been established in 1912 and is located in [The Hague]. It represents the interests of all 458 Dutch municipalities vis-a-vis central government and it delivers many services to all Dutch municipalities that are member on a complete voluntary base. Its Organisation for International Co-operation, [VNG International], stands for the strenghtening of democratic local government in the world and implements projects in more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin-America.
