The Watercress Line is the marketing name of the Mid-Hants Railway, a heritage line in Hampshire, England, running 10 from New Alresford to Alton where it connects to the national rail network. The line gained its popular name in the days that it was used to transport locally grown watercress to markets in London.

Overview
Watercress Line<!--comment removes blank line after heading
-->In 1861 the Alton, Alresford and Winchester Railway Company was authorised to build a new railway to connect to the existing London & South Western Railway lines at Alton and Winchester. It was opened on 2 October 1865 as the Mid-Hants Railway. Trains were operated by the London & South Western Railway who eventually purchased the Mid-Hants Railway Company in 1884.

Just let me make a page about myself even if it is totally outragous!!!!
Stations were initially constructed at Itchen Abbas, Ropley and Alresford. The station at Alton was already in existence. The station at Medstead & Four Marks was added in 1868. Just outside this station, the line is at it highest point (652 ft above sea level) having risen from Alresford (263 ft above sea level) and descending to Alton (339 ft above sea level). The section of line became known as "the Alps", due to the steep gradients that exist here.

The line provided an alternative route between London and Southampton and besides transporting locally produced watercress, was particularly important for military traffic between the army town of Aldershot and the military embarkation port at Southampton.

Welcome
With the development of motorised transport, the line declined during the inter-war and post-war periods of the 20th Century and was further compromised by the closures of the Basingstoke and Alton Light Railway in 1932 and the Meon Valley Railway in 1955. Electrification of the line from London to Alton in 1937 meant that the Watercress Line was no longer part of a through route: it became necessary to change at Alton. Electrification of the line from London to Southampton occurred in 1967, which further affected the economics of the picturesque Mid-Hants route.

You're welcome :). Pinkadelica (talk) 08:40, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
The line became part of the Southern Railway in 1923 and then part of the Southern Region of British Railways in 1948. It was lucky to survive the Beeching Axe in 1967, but was eventually closed by British Railways in 1973.

The section of line from Alresford to Alton that can be seen today was successfully purchased from British Rail in November 1975<!--by whom?-->. Reconstruction of the line subsequently progressed in stages<!--by whom?-->. The section between Alresford and Ropley re-opened on 30 April 1977. To provide engineering and maintenance facilities, the main locomotive shed and workshops were constructed at Ropley. The extension to Medstead & Four Marks opened on 28 May 1983 and the final section to Alton opened on 25 May 1985.
Before its closure, the railway joined the South Western Main Line at Winchester junction, two miles (3&nbsp;km) north of Winchester. There have been proposals to extend the existing line to rejoin Winchester, but that would require significant civil engineering works and massive funding. The M3 motorway from London to Southampton cuts across the old route and houses have been built across the right-of-way in Itchen Abbas.

i thought that was ok?? can you please email me back and tell me what i have done wrong..
Some of the structures that can be seen on the Watercress Line today were not part of the original railway infrastructure; they have been added to make the line serviceable again and to recreate the feel of a fully-operational steam railway.
thankyou

The railway is operated by a variety of steam locomotives, many originating from the Southern Railway. Heritage diesel locomotives and multiple units are also represented, including the Southern Region Class 33 diesel locomotive, an '08' and a Class 11 diesel shunters. Two of their locomotives, named Thomas and Douglas were rebuilt from Hunslet 'Austerity' tank engines ('Thomas' was rebuilt at MHR.)

I've been concerned about this user for some time, know you've had a run in with her in the past so lets' get down to the issues at hand. This user seems to have an issue with co-operation and has had spates of adding original research and for whatever reason adding the same phrase to various articles. Several times during her tenure here she's blanked her talkpage anytime someone told her something she didn't like or was given warnings. That in itself is not bad but the constant references to "I will work with others" seems to makes me think she takes ownership of all she edits and does not want to work with anyone else willingly, even going as far as asking for adminship to prevent anyone but herself editing an article . I can tell she's young but there's a history of this user being very incivil towards others and generally I don't think her attitude is something that should be tolerated even if it is a passive aggressive stance she's taken. Talk to her if you like but she's very unresponsive to others and I have no idea how much traction you'll get out of that if any. <font color="#94887C">treelo</font> <font color="#D2CDC6">radda</font> 11:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
:Back to give a little tap, two people have had to give her warnings regarding her conduct and it's been an issue since she joined in February even though she has come close to a block several times but never actually modified her editing style. Keeping out from under the radar is no excuse for making statements of ownership and even though it's not extreme vandalism or bad faith editing, I still reckon some form of admin intervention should be done given the persistence of the editor. Just keeping you aware. <font color="#94887C">treelo</font> <font color="#D2CDC6">radda</font> 09:59, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
::Yes, I think you're right that some kind of admin intervention is going to be needed at some time. Let's see how she reacts to the latest warnings and if necessary give her a final warning should she continue. Her edits since the last warning are okay, though a bit beginner. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:27, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

As this is my first contribution, please let me know what was objectionable. As an attorney, I know the importance of footnoting, which I was trying to figure out how to do. I was simply trying to add recent facts about a newly national public figure - information that is not normally reported on a national level, only regional. I know this gentleman's page was shut down for apparent vandalism, but I am simply trying to add relevant and recent facts that would be of interest to any football fan. If my tone was inappropriate, just let me know. The basic comments were facts - not a rambling venting of a sports fan. I am sure your political editors don't have time to sleep. <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by Traviskp (talk • contribs) 05:49, 8 October 2008 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

I made a mistake...
I sent this last night to the IRCAC page:
"Hi. I am so sorry. I made a mistake trying to update and correct. Now I have read all the pertinent information and I think I understand. I have been a long time fan, following the career of actress Juliet Landau. I had the pleasure of working with her as an extra on a Miss Juliet Production. I thought in saying I worked with her and giving the production company email, you would know that the info was accurate. When that backfired, I emailed from my personal email, explaining that I was a fan. I wrote the bio wanting there to be an appropriate page for Ms. Landau, reflecting the work she has done and with accurate facts."
I got a nice response from REDVERS, saying to do all the editing from Mjpbp and to abandon the Ircac account.
I have now read all of your comments and instructions... I am sorry for trying to sound official initially ( I thought if I sounded official, you would know the info was correct) and for creating confusion. I don't think I edited it correctly either, according to your procedures.
It is a good thing I didn't update the James Marsters page at the same time, as I was planning...
I'd appreciate if you could let me know what to do and how to proceed.
Thank you so much for your time!
Mjpbp (my name is Brijana, by the way)
P.S. The updated info for Juliet Landau was based on the two reference articles I included... If Magazine and Backstage West.
I look forward to your response!

help Gogo
Hello Gogo,
Thank you so much for taking the time to get back to me.
I would like to edit, now that I believe I understand how to do it properly. It says my page can not be found. Should I make the additions without having a page or are there steps for me to re-activate my page? As you can tell, I find this all a bit confusing.
I want to reiterate that I do not work for Juliet Landau, I did extra work and have literally only said hello to her. I thought I had to be a representative of the person in order to get the correct info posted. This was an error on my part and I am sorry. I don't want Ms. Landau and her page to be blocked from other editors etc, because of what I did.
Have a great day!
All the best,
Brijana <small><span class="autosigned">—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjpbp (talk • contribs) 19:03, 9 October 2008 (UTC)</span></small><!-- Template:Unsigned --> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->

Ryan Higa
Can you reconsider your decision to delete the Ryan Higa article. Looking at the last AFD, the major concern seemed to be the lack of 3rd party sources, that doesn't seem to be a problem anymore with coverage available from multiple reliable sources such as KGMB, the CBS affiliate in Honolulu, San Francisco Chronical and some coverage in the Honolulu Star Bulletin. The name is shared by a high school athelete and an artist who have been mentioned in Hawaiian papers which may have made locating sources difficult.--Rtphokie (talk) 14:37, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Gogo Dodo. I see you frequently reverting vandalism but omitting warning messages. Is there some logic behind this? --Geronimo20 (talk) 22:20, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Your revert in Aaliyah

Hey there, I noticed your revert here reverted so far back that it breaks many policies, such as MOS:SYL, WP:OR, WP:RS, among many others. Any reason why this was done? DiverseMentality(Boo!) 19:52, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I undid my revert. I was cleaning up after the barefoot vandal and botched that one. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:56, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

I see, no harm done. Just thought I'd give you a notice to make sure what exactly was going on. DiverseMentality(Boo!) 19:59, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

The barefoot vandal has a lot of sockpuppets and I got a little lost on my reverts. Thanks for nudging me on that. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:00, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

User:HorseGirl070605

I've been concerned about this user for some time, know you've had a run in with her in the past so lets' get down to the issues at hand. This user seems to have an issue with co-operation and has had spates of adding original research and for whatever reason adding the same phrase to various articles. Several times during her tenure here she's blanked her talkpage anytime someone told her something she didn't like or was given warnings. That in itself is not bad but the constant references to "I will work with others" seems to makes me think she takes ownership of all she edits and does not want to work with anyone else willingly, even going as far as asking for adminship to prevent anyone but herself editing an article [1]. I can tell she's young but there's a history of this user being very incivil towards others and generally I don't think her attitude is something that should be tolerated even if it is a passive aggressive stance she's taken. Talk to her if you like but she's very unresponsive to others and I have no idea how much traction you'll get out of that if any. treelo radda 11:09, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Back to give a little tap, two people have had to give her warnings regarding her conduct and it's been an issue since she joined in February even though she has come close to a block several times but never actually modified her editing style. Keeping out from under the radar is no excuse for making statements of ownership and even though it's not extreme vandalism or bad faith editing, I still reckon some form of admin intervention should be done given the persistence of the editor. Just keeping you aware. treelo radda 09:59, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I think you're right that some kind of admin intervention is going to be needed at some time. Let's see how she reacts to the latest warnings and if necessary give her a final warning should she continue. Her edits since the last warning are okay, though a bit beginner. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 17:27, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Where's the love? Helkat paintball deserves a wiki page. Their barrels are much better than most. I added external links, etc. I'm just a chump that designs and sells barrels, not a spam farm. I've certainly seen a lot worse out there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremyhaile (talkcontribs) 06:16, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

was thinking of creating and noticed it has been removed before. Jus asking if the updating of ECHL league players is notable enough? It falls within the guidelines of a pro league so i think there should be appropriate info on the players. Cheers for the input

Student Association Issue

I am still new to this wikipedia stuff, so my concerns are, where should I start to discuss about the Student Association? What should I name the article exactly? And you've mentioned media, can I start by uploading a picture of my own? I also want to exchange emails with you to talk privately about other concerns.

Ed Hochuli

As this is my first contribution, please let me know what was objectionable. As an attorney, I know the importance of footnoting, which I was trying to figure out how to do. I was simply trying to add recent facts about a newly national public figure - information that is not normally reported on a national level, only regional. I know this gentleman's page was shut down for apparent vandalism, but I am simply trying to add relevant and recent facts that would be of interest to any football fan. If my tone was inappropriate, just let me know. The basic comments were facts - not a rambling venting of a sports fan. I am sure your political editors don't have time to sleep. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Traviskp (talkcontribs) 05:49, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

I made a mistake...

I sent this last night to the IRCAC page: "Hi. Landau, reflecting the work she has done and with accurate facts." I got a nice response from REDVERS, saying to do all the editing from Mjpbp and to abandon the Ircac account. I have now read all of your comments and instructions...
