The BBC website also states that the boy's father Philip Peak "is in hospital in a serious but stable condition with fractures to his neck and back, broken ribs, bruising and swelling to his lungs" and not "minor injuries" as stated on the Wikipedia page. The BBC article referenced says that the player arrested is believed to be McCormick. The article here says categorically that it is him, which is not quite the same thing.
