Codonas Amusement Park is an amusement park in Aberdeen, Scotland with indoor and outdoor attractions. the theme park is currently open for the 2010 season

History

The park was started by the Codona family in 1969 at its current site on the Beach Esplanade. It is still a family run business, run by the third generation of Codonas.

Mascot

The mascot of Codonas is Dodgem the Dog. He was created through a competition to see who could make the best mascot for the park. Dodgem likes to join kids on the rides and walks through the park having fun with customers.

Controversies

On the 15th of July 2020 after the easing of lockdown restriction caused by the coronavirus outbreak Codonas after seeking advice from the government opened the on-site outdoor amusement park. Despite seeking advice and implementing extra safety measures they were ordered to close by the local Environmental Health team. Codonas Facebook page then issued a statement saying how disappointed they were in the decision and felt if so it was unfair and asked it to be urgently reviewed.
