She said she was born in London on Leno —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.97.35.21 (talk) 04:06, August 22, 2007 (UTC)

Unsourced and cannot be included per WP:BLP. Miranda 04:34, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed section stating Beckham is the only Spice Girl to have reached the top 10 solo as all the others have had number ones. She is a babe

Also she did date Corey Haim, but he dumped her by kicking her cool out of a car on the motorway hard shoulder.

She was standing next to Bechhman as they announced his new $250million deal to play in LA. If you look close you can see her doing the math for the divorce settlement.

Removed text

I have removed the "and why she calls her husband 'Golden Balls'!" part as it jars with the last paragraph (the whole of which is marginal in its relevance anyway). It looks like just a bad joke. If there is any relevant factual basis to this then it can go back in by all means. Mat-C 22:08, 17 Apr 2004 (UTC)

POV pushing

victoria beckham fans seem to have hijacked this page... a really poor entry, full of pov and poor syntax etc. it reads like a Hello! profile of her, not an encyclopaedia entry. but i guess i'm being stupid to expect more... i am pretty dim, i spent ages editing it... *shame* --172.212.21.52 02:20, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

see, now look at the britney spears page.. that's fucking amazing! --172.212.21.52 02:26, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Question of "commercial failure"

This entry confuses me: "Despite being one of the most well-known celebrities in Britain, and having all her music reach the top ten (the only solo spice to do so), Victoria Beckham's career as a solo artist is largely considered to have been a commercial failure. The only Spice Girl not to have had a UK number one single as a solo artist." So she's the only Spice Girl to reach the top ten, but she's also the only Spice Girl not to reach the number one spot??

It says ALL her music has reached the top ten. But none has gotten to No.1
: Exactly. All the other spice girls have reached No.1 with at least one single each, but they also had singles that never reached the top ten. On the other hand, all of Victoria's singles reached top ten, though neither of them reached No.1.

Corey Haim

On Corey Haim's Wikipedia page, it claims he dated Victoria Beckham. Is this true?

It's true, she mentioned it in her autobiography. They dated casually when the Spice Girls first started then dumped him because he was a psycho drunk.

Ethnicity and religion

User:70.108.194.42 apparently would like some information on Ms. Beckham's ethnicity and religion, or those of her parents, to be added to the article. --Lph 18:42, 30 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard it reported that she in interested in the Kaballah faith, although I don't know if she has a Jewish background?
This would be interesting to include, I've never seen any information about it. I wonder what her ethnic background is - she does not have a very typically English complexition - she looks more like an Italian girl. 75.39.123.66 23:36, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Victoria's Years Active

User:Thegingerone This is a pet peeve of mine. Victoria made solo music from 2000-2003. She was a Spice Girl 1996-2000 and she has been a 'celebrity' and fashion designer from 2004-present. So what should we list her as? Logical thought is that box is about music and this being her page and not the Spice Girl's I feel its proper to say 2000-2003. She has said shes NOT making more music unless it was another performance with the Spice Girls. Some of her material has leaked but its not 'released'. So PLEASE quit changing it.

what ws that dress

can someone please tlel me which dress it was that victoria wears by that reaallly famous designer.. the dress is meant ot make you look really good.. it's really famous.

Um I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but she wore an amazing green-turquoise-blue Cavalli (a close personal friend) gown to the Swarovfski Fashion Rocks for The Prince's Trust either this or last year (2005 or 2006). I also read that she's commissioned him (Cavalli) to dress her for every red-carpet event she goes to.

please reply on my talk page! --Rushda2 15:51, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unreleased songs

I've just deleted the following song titles: "Me And You This Time", "Resentment", "That Dude", "Valentine".

They were in The Real Beckhams DVD, therefore officially released.

I changed the wording for the 2006 leaks. It just seemed so wordy. I added a 'Real Beckhams' part because I guess technically thats true. They werent really released yet they werent 'leaked' either. Also I removed the 'remixes' because that just cant be said (I believe you put that up on the paragraph about the leaks). We have never heard the 'original' or 'single' or 'album' versions of any of these songs; we havent heard the Ebay mixes and all we can say is these songs are the only leaked copies. They didnt have the word 'remix' in the title so we really cant say that. For now their just the only mix we have. [user:Thegingerone]

Released means issuing a product for sale or public showing, and they were in The Real Beckhams DVD. They weren't released as individual singles or as parts of an album, but they are available for sale. Just like B-sides. I didn't put the paragraph about the leaks. The owner of the original eBay CD have listened to the eleven songs recently leaked and confirmed that they are, in fact, remixes.

Get Ready (Featuring Maishyla)

Get Ready (Featuring Maishyla) does not have anything to do with Victoria whatsoever. It was just a song that a fan posted in forum, the usual "This sounds like Victoria, do you think it might be her?" 220.101.147.249 16:30, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

general questions

there seems to be WAY too much information in this article...can we excise some of it? also, many things are hinted at and never resolved (the fashion show, etc.) do we have new info for them? Bouncehoper 06:45, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Weight

why is so much of the article devoted to her musical career that nobody gives a ____ about, but none referring to her weight, which is commented on EVERY DAY by tabloids and magazines. The only things that people want to know about Victoria Beckham are 'is she anorexic?' and 'what's it like being married to becks?'. I'm assuming that Posh fans have deleted anything controversial. 80.41.21.8 18:46, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. I scanned through the article and found nothing controversial per se.

I don't see how her weight would be anything important to the article. Victoria's musical career used to be her profession and is one of the reasons why she became famous and got her fans. And yes, there are people wanting to know, for instance, if she plans on coming back to music, or acting, or reuniting with the Spice Girls. Whether she is anorexic or not (and I don't think she is, because she doesn't keep losing weight or is seen having seizures or anything), it would only be important if it was having influence in other people's behaviour. Which doesn't seem to be the case.

Omg! The tabloids only go on about her weight because A) They're got nothing else to say about her, and B) She's maginally thinner then every other underweight celebrity. If you look at her arms and legs, and then at those of an anorexic person, it doesn't even compare.

Birthday

I think someone should add a section about Victoria's 33rd birthday. Did you hear what Becks got her? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 151.197.27.10 (talk) 23:04, 21 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

VB as arbiter of taste

I added a comment under fashion to the effect that VB's credentials as an arbiter of taste were dented when it emerged that she and DB are customers of the British jeweller Theo Fennell - since his ranges are notable for their vulgarity ( as well as being significantly over-priced, which I did not mention ) and someone removed this within a few hours. Is that right ? Was it not fair comment ? Someone please advise...160.83.32.14 10:41, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scientology

I noticed no reference here, or in the article. Is she, or isn't she? She sure as hell turns up at all their public things like weddings, christenings, et cetera. Jachin 10:30, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

nothing has been stated publicly/officially that she is a Scientologist. It could be mentioned (the rumor, that is) if a source were found. Joliefille 12:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Info

I went in to this just cruising for info, but found some of the personal stuff vague or completely not there (ie, "they married some months later"). Beckham's page is much more detailed, so I got most of it from there. However, I know next to nothing about her recording career post-SG, so if anyone can go through that w/ a fine-toothed comb, it'd be a great asset to the article. Joliefille 12:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Missing info

This article should say something about how she managed to overcome her skin problems, and when she had her breasts enhanced. -- Beardo 21:20, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In 'That Extra Half An Inch', she says she had REALLY, REALLY serious acne, and they finally went to the Doctors, and it turned out she had 'a food allergy', and then her skin was fine from then on. She's always denied having implants, but apparantly there are court documents proving she did, so I assume if anyone could find them, they'd be dated. I recently saw a photo of her at the 2000 VH1 Fashion Awards (where she was filmed for her brief snipit in 'Zoolander'), and she was looking very flat then.

I saw a photo in a magazine last year sometime, she was wearing a dress split quite low down the front, two horizontal scars were clearly visible below the breast. So yes she has had breast enhancement surgery and it would appear shes had it done twice.

Someone put in some stupid comments about the spice girls killing people on July 12, 2007. I deleted this entire section.

Unreleased Music

I (Eagle Owl 17:37, 13 July 2007 (UTC)) have placed this on here so that someone can clean this entry up, check the references and format them properly, and verify whether you can use forums for references on Wikipedia. The entry was also fairly messy, but I hope that someone can clean this up as it may be worth adding to the article. The entry stands as:[reply]

The facts behind the unreleased cd

Dee on the Denden forums [1] won the unreleased cd on eBay. At first the plan was to release the songs to fans on the forum who agreed to pay, to cover the costs of the cd. There was a group of people who signed up and were waiting for her to make copies.

During this time she gave reviews of each song. However over this time she started to fear the legal ramifications if Victoria's legal team was to find out that she was the start of the leak.

She then said in the forums that she would not be leaking the tracks due to legal reasons and the original seller had gotten the cd back. This was false.

She secretly invited certain members into a private forum on Denden[2]. This group of people was given watermarked tracks to prevent distribution and to track who leaked them if it did occur. Each member was given the full 20 tracks. Over time the forum was used to discuss each track.

However after close to a year Dee decided to leak the tracks online. Only of 11 of the tracks were leaked by the forums owner Dennis. They are edited versions that he edited himself. They attempted to change them to appear that they were from a different cd, not the work in progress one that Dee had purchased.

Dennis decided to leak them on another forum to avoid links back to DenDen[3].

It seems to be original research to me, as well as potentially libelous if it's false. A forum cannot be trusted to provide reliable information. I am giving the guy a day to provide the reliable sources, before it gets deleted. --Dark Falls talk 02:49, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment

This whole article reads like it was written by Posh's PR team. Her show may have been the third most watched, but it was beaten by a re run of Wife Swap, and 4 mil plus viewers is not a hit here.

The television section just states the facts. There is nothing wrong with that, and there is no getting away from the fact that it was actually the third most watched programme at the time. Eagle Owl 14:07, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is third out of four primary networks competing.
I think it's best to let the facts speak for themselves without actually writing "disappointing". We must try to keep the section balanced and neutral. Let the facts speak for themselves.Eagle Owl 10:21, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. I think disappointing is more accurate. It was written as though this were a bronze medal, when in fact third means it is likely to get the hook.--71.32.3.199 17:32, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article does seem to have been astroturfed. Meh. Add another one to the pile. --W.marsh 22:01, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New Heading

I was thinking maybe we should move some of the personal life information and make a new section called Early Life or something like that. We could include her family as well as the dance schools she went to. Also Victoria Beckham mentions in her autobiography Learning to Fly that before Spice Girls she was part of Persuasion a pop group that didnt really go nowhere. When she noticed that the Spice Girls was going to be more succesful she quit it. The part about being in Persuasion was on page 93 "The band was called Persuasion."

Birthplace/date of birth

There's a problem here. Two different places of birth (Goff's Oak/Harlow) are shown and two birthdates (April 17, 1973/April 17, 1974), in the introduction and the personal life section. That needs to be sorted. --Malcolmxl5 04:00, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Right now, due to BLP concerns, it would be wise to leave the year off. Might just do that myself. Miranda 05:25, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Birthdate issue sorted. Miranda 21:54, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vulgarity? / Vandalism

The solo career entries are littered with profanity that does not seem to be present in the source. Namely "it was shit" is used in reference to several of her solo songs. If a mod could look into this it would be appreciated.

We seem to have one or more very dedicated group of vandals who're constantly screwing with the content! I insist one of the admins semi-protect the page, especially from non-members. --Fshafique 02:59, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've requested semi-protection for the page. For future reference, any editor can request protection at WP:RPP. --clpo13(talk) 08:58, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've been very close to nominating the page myself. If vandalism continues after September 25, 2007 when the protection runs out, I will re-nominate the page. Eagle Owl 09:49, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
