Rick Scherer is a UNIX Systems Administrator for SDDPC, the IT Entity for The City of San Diego. Although UNIX Administration is his primary duty he has proven to be well versed in many different areas of IT. As a member of the City's IT Architecture team he helps design and deploy many technologies outside of his UNIX foundation, including Windows systems, Network design, SAP and VMware Enterprise environments. Obtaining his VCP in 2006 he has since designed and maintains a 20+ VMware ESX Farm of which hosts many mission critical City of San Diego applications including SAP.
