"G.E.D." is an episode of the American sitcom My Name Is Earl.
Synopsis
After Earl gets declined to apply for a credit card for not having a job, a high school diploma, or a real place to live, he decides to take some big steps towards finally growing up. Earl returns to school to take his GED and realizes just how hard it is for teachers to deal with students like the one he used to be when he was younger.

Trivia
- This is the second time Earl was a teacher. The first time was in Teacher Earl, when he was teaching foreigners how to speak English.
- Randy bubbles in a picture of a sailboat on one of his GED answer sheets; Ethan Suplee's character in Mallrats became infuriated by his inability to see a Magic Eye picture of a sailboat.
- This episode establishes that Earl turned 35 in 2007, placing his birthday in 1972.
- One of the students in Earl's class says that his job in the future is going to be a rock star because on Guitar Hero 2 he got five stars on Freebird on hard the first time.
- Earl mentions an incident where he got caught on a security camera falling into a liquor store he attempted to rob. It is a reference to this video.
