Parody?

Does anyone think that Sam is a parody?

Of who? I can't think of anyone in particular, but maybe of the goth subculture in general. Lord Sephiroth23:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No! Sam is the most realistic goth I've ever seen on TV. From the goth article here on Wikipedia: "A recent study by Sussex University suggests that goths are likely to grow up to be doctors, lawyers or architects, and that goths are usually intelligent, refined and sensitive, and keen on poetry and books" Yeah, that's Sam. Goths tend to be misunderstood because of the REAL parodies (the hatred of everything cute and nice). I've NEVER met a goth who was NOT like Sam. In fact, the goth girls I know have been some of the sweetest and most caring and loving girls I've ever met (but they're NOT girly-girls, nor are they tomboys). DanielBrodzik 21:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but in episodes of DP, she really STATED herself as "unique" even if she states herself as a Goth in other episodes. That might be considered a bias in character, IMHO.

Picture

Hey, what happened to the picture? Was it killed accidentally or were there copyright issues? I didn't see any comments reffering to that on the history. Lord Sephiroth23:06, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can we get a picture of her that isn't fan art?-- Wakefencer

Sam's Language Skills?

In Urban Jungle, Sam seems to know how to speak both French and Japanese (or is that Chinese?). Should this be added?

Knuckles and Rouge

I don't think this article was made with the most professional writers, they are making comparisons to video game characters referencing a nick video game that probably has no influence by the creators of the show. someone needs to clean this up.Mavrickindigo 21:13, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category: Plant Characters

Why is Sam in the category Plant Characters? Sam isn't a plant. She is overshadowed by a plant for about 20 minutes of Urban Jungle, has a greenhouse, and is a vegetarian, but she's a human. CompGrl323 08:29, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manson

Number one, we have a section called "The Manson Family" which is kind of weird. Number two, is there any possible (though not cited) connection between....ehm. [Him|Charles Manson]] and her. Samantha, son of Sam. Anybody see where I'm going with this? Granted, its OR at the moment, but if anyone could find a citation by Hartman could it be put it somewhere in the article? Of course this could just be the insane mutterings of me.

Actually, Sam is named more after Marilyn Manson, there are several indicators in the Freak Show episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Doratheghost (talkcontribs) 17:16, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What the Hell does Fannon mean?

Some guy says that her hair not being natural black is fannon. Sam's hair can't be black, her parents have red and yellow hair. Plus she's a goth, and goths are known hor dying their hair. Black hair is the most dominant hair color. If one of her parents had the black hair gene, they would have it him/her self. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.203.31.11 (talk) 22:08, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original Thought

The idea that Sam's hair is black is by Wikipedia standards, "Original Thought". To say she dyes her hair is pure speculation. Wikipedia is not a place to publish original thoughts, "this includes unpublished facts, arguments, speculation, and ideas". My efforts to clean up this entry has been met with resistance, with my corrections consistently being reverted back to the incorrect form; for example, stating that Sam has long-short hair or "midium black hair" (misspelling theirs). The matter has been taken to Wikipedia editors for review, hence the warning that the entry may contain original thought or unverifiable claims. I also argue that the sections titled, Wardrobe, Personality/Weaknesses and Romance is redundant to the first section of the entry and should be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Doratheghost (talkcontribs) 12:56, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see it as "Original Thought", I see it as opening to the possiblities. Kinda like God made the world in 7 days. Maybe there's more than what meets the eye (refering top the fact the worldwas made in 15 billion years). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.238.25.231 (talk) 17:05, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't matter if you think it's original thought or not according to Wikipedia standards please read the (entry on original thought) it is! This is the Wikipedia not a fansite for you to put in personal ideas. Unless you have printed evidence from Butch Hartman or one of the show creators themselves, you cannot say her hair is dyed. You cannot apply genetics to a cartoon character!!! They are NOT genetic. Maybe her mother dyes her hair. Maybe her father does. There are facts which are missing in the equation therefore you cannot sit and say that her hair is dyed. YOU DO NOT KNOW FOR CERTAIN AND YOU HAVE NO PROOF!! Again this is not a forum for your opinion, but a place for facts. The fact is sam's hair is black nothing more nothing less.

I will alert you to Wikipedia policy about original thought. "Wikipedia does not publish original research or original thought. This includes unpublished facts, arguments, speculation, and ideas; and any unpublished analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to advance a position. This means that Wikipedia is not the place to publish your own opinions, experiences, or arguments."

And for the record, this is also considered as short hairstyle --->http://gimps.de/pictures/268-Cute-Short-Haircuts
