Frederick Debell Bennett was a ship surgeon, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and biologist. In 1833-1836 he sailed on a whaling cruise on board the Tuscan round the globe and especially to the Pacific region. The task of this journey was to study whales, lands and nature.
