HMS Trent

HMS Trent may refer to one of several British warships named after the River Trent:

• HMS Trent, frigate, captained by John Lindsay during the capture of Havana in 1762
• HMS Trent, commanded by a young John Franklin on a northern voyage as far as Spitsbergen in 1818. He also first met his future wife Eleanor Anne Porden on the ship in 1818.
• HMS Trent, 17-gun sloop, ordered in November 1860 as one of the Perseus class, selected for conversion to an ironclad, renamed HMS Research (1863).
• HMS Trent, a monitor active in 1915.
• HMS Trent (K243), River class frigate, transferred to the Royal Indian Navy April 1946 and renamed Kurki, later renamed Investigator and made into a survey vessel. [1]
