QCSHS has two school publications: The Electron, and Ang Banyuhay, where QueSci is one of the national leaders and award baggers in competitions. It currently holds the District Press Conference for the 14th consecutive year, and also joins in the Division and Regional Press Conferencees, the Teodoro Valencia Awards, and the YMCA Search for the Young Campus Journalists(2007-2008). The school also sends delegates to the National Schools Press Conference.

Quezon City Science High holds the 2008 Association of Science Eduators of the Philippines (ASEP) National Science Competition Quiz Bee Championships in Physics, won by Ricardo Raphael Julian, Chemistry, won by Nikita P. Bacalzo Jr., and Second Place in Biology, won by Sebastian Maria B. Sagadal, held in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Southern Tagalog Region. It also takes pride of the 16th International Environmental Project Olympiad (INEPO) Gold Medalists, Avril Bries and Howell Henrian Bayona, for their projects in the Production of Ethanol from Pineapple Peelings and Power from Cow Manure through a Microbial Fuel Cell

QCSHS' sections are named after different scientists, namely Avogadro, Becquerel, Curie, Darwin, Edison, Einstein, and Fleming, for Regional Science High School Curriculum, and for the Engineering And Science Education Program Curriculum, Archimedes and Bernoulli.
This was adapted only for Batch 2009. For Batch 2012, another section, Galileo, was added, still in the RSHS curriculum.

Admission
Applicants must have at least a grade of 85 in major subjects (Sciences, Math, English) and at least 83 in minor subjects to be able to take the entrance exam. In the first screening, applicants must achieve a score of at least 75%. In order to pass the second screening, an applicant must be in the top 250 of the examinees. The Third, and last, Screening is an interview.

Brief History
Hermingilda Garcia Margate, then Division Science Supervisor, conceived the establishment of a science high school in Quezon City. This idea was announced by Alfredo J. Andal, then City Schools Superintendent in the year 1967. Later, in 1997, the city science high school of Quezon City was designated by the Department of Education - National Capital Region as the Regional Science High School for the National Capital Region.

QueSci celebrated its 40th foundation anniversary last September 17, 2007 and named the Administration Building's lobby, the Margate Hall, dedicated to its foundress, the late Hermingilda G. Margate. Her son, Ryan, was the one who unveiled the new marker for the building.

The new principal is Zenaida P. Sadsad, Ed.D., a former science teacher in the same institute. She implemented additional courses for Second Year, Third Year and Fourth Year namely Advance Biology for Second Year, Speech and Drama or Journalism for Third Year and Linear Algebra, Journalism and Pamamahayag or Technical Writing for the Fourth Year. She also implemented new policies such as the more strict latecomers policy, and a school hour extension for some Curriculum Year Levels to give way for the additional subject areas.

The Principal
The current principal of Quezon City Science High School is Zenaida Panti Sadsad. Sadsad came from Santa Lucia High School, now designated as Principal III of QCSHS. Due to the many changes in school rules and policy that Sadsad has implemented (including the removal of all extracurricular activities), a large number of outcries has been heard from the students, expressed in blogs, text messages, and, most recently, vandalism of school property. Even former teachers are said to move to other schools voluntarily because of these changes and they were all replaced by new teachers. Because of these protests, Sadsad personally talked to the third and fourth year students, and in the course of her speeches, promised to revert most of the changes that she had had carried out. It is under her administration that the alumni was banned from entering school grounds for the second time in QueSci history.

Sadsad replaced the 11-month principal of QCSHS, Proceso T. Lera, who is now appointed at North Fairview High School as Principal IV.

Lera is the successor of another less-than-a-year termer principal, Romulo B. Rocena. Rocena, now principal of Ernesto Rondon High School replaced Betty Cuarte Cavo, now Assistant Division Schools Superintendent. QueSci's first principal is Herminigilda Garcia Margate.

Former Principals are:

Facilities
Mathay I Building
This three-story building houses the QueSci's Mathematics Center and Laboratory as well as its school library and e-library which is connected to the international networking. You can also locate the Earth & Environmental Science Laboratory as well as the room for the school's students of the Engineering & Science Education Curriculum. The MAPEH and Filipino department are also located in this building because the canteen had to be transferred to the rooms of the said departments.

QCSHS Science & Technology Building
It is the main building of the school's Science Department. In the first level are the Integrated Science and Biology Laboratories (as well as office/eating/chat/chismis area for the teachers utilizing the laboratory). In the second level are the two airconditioned Computer Laboratories and the Science Center. But this school year (S.Y. 2008 - 2009), 4 sections of the Third year students (Avogadro, Becquerel, Curie, and Einstein) were placed in the laboratories because of the demolition of a part of the Margate Hall.

DOST Building
The Department of Science & Technology's Engineering & Science Education Building, a one-story structure houses the school's Physics and Chemistry laboratories which was funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The building was constructed under then Division Superintendent Aquilina S. Rivas.

Mathay II Hall
A four-story classroom building constructed through the local government of Quezon City under the administration of the former Quezon City Mayor Ismael Mathay Jr. It houses all the sections of Second Year of the Regional Science High School Curriculum and to fourth year both RSHS and Engineering and Science Education Curriculum (ESEP).

Icasiano-Calalay Building
It is located beside the Mathay I Building. It formerly houses Second Year Students, but because a part of Margate Hall is demolished where the Freshmen stays, the Sophomores are transferred to the Third and Fourth Floor of Mathay II Building, while the Freshmen occupies the Icasiano-Calalay Building.

Canteen
It is located at the back of the demolished part of Margate Hall but it is under construction. The Canteen transferred to the Filipino and MAPEH Center located at the back of Mathay II.

School Logo
The school's motto "Scientia et Virtus" is translated as Science and Virtue. The Book and the Torch symbolize intelligence and wisdom. The laurel is for peace. The Atomium represents the Scientians' above-average aptitude in the field of science and mathematics. They enjoin alumni (and university graduates) in competitions designed for high school students.

When Quesci increased its population, Pascal and Newton were added. In 1993, as part of DOST's Engineering and Sciences Education Project, Pilot Classes were made (Pilot Class A and B) under the Technology-based Curriculum. In 1996, the two Pilot Sections were renamed Avogadro and Becquerel. Eventually, Avogadro and Becquerel replaced Curie and Darwin as top sections on 2003. Archimedes and Bernoulli were added on Batch 2009. Later on, Galileo was added for batch 2012.
*Leticia L. Lomibao is one of the earliest pioneer teachers who's still in Quesci.
