It should NOT be used to describe persons living today. The anglo-saxons officially ceased to exist after the Norman Conquest in 1066. The correct term for English-speaking people is 'anglophone'. The term anglo-saxon is historically & ethnically incorrect and is considered a serious insult by many anglophones. This term must be deleted from the French vocabulary. undo
