New page

I have created this page becasue it is a missing (and needed) article. However, I am not on top of the subject, and I hope that other people can contribute, particularly to filling out the sections that I have left blank. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kingdom category

I note that the category has been removed. I have to confess that I was not wholly happy with the term "kingdom", but we have not got a category for quasi-sovereign Welsh lordships under Welsh rule, the counterpart of marcher lordships. At one period their rulers would be called in latin (not rex) but "regulus", which is a diminutive of king. Unfortunately, this is not satisfactory English equivalent, since "king" implies some one of ratehr greater importance. The Saxons also used "subregulus" (translated underking). If you do not like the category that I used, can you devise a better one? Peterkingiron (talk) 09:26, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
