Delete for similar reasons to Al Gore III. #1 This piece is a WP:COATRACK for a person with no notability on his own. Notability is not inherited, and being Chairperson of the Young Republicans for less than a month does not make one notable. Where are all the other Young Republican and Young Democrat Chairpersons? If anything, the information can easily be merged into the article on the Young Republicans. #2 The article contains only negative information, some of which is WP:BLP-sensitive information and not appropriate (e.g. sometimes known as The Midnight Fellator per WP:ATTACK). #3 I think there are WP:N concerns here as well, this guy's scandals are non-notable outside of his association with a partisan organization and would not have an article under a difference circumstance. #4 This is the 2nd nomination at AfD for this article, the previous AfD did not reach consensus but was kept. As was stated in the Al Gore III discussion(where I voted strong delete), "Consensus (or lack of) can change and in this case should". Mrprada911 (talk) 06:16, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strong Delete. The article gives no prominence to his political roles, which is what he might be notable for, and instead only detail of the allegations of sexual assault, which are not relevant to his notability. WP:BLP applies, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid, and as such it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives. BLPs must be written conservatively, with regard for the subject's privacy, per User:Malcolmxl5 on the article's talk page. The original AfD said the article should stay because it provides context to the Young Republicans article, but I fail to see what context it provides outside of WP:NOT#INHERITED. It also asserts that being Chairperson of the Young Republicans may be grounds for notability, yet Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jessica Colon (Chairperson from 2007 to present) was Speedy A7. If anything this article diserves a redirect and dishonorable mention in a merge at the bottom of the Young Republicans article. Mrprada911 (talk) 06:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as a classic example of single event under BLP. He was not yet a major political figure. DGG (talk) 16:35, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as a WP:COATRACK. Quite a few of the chairs eventually become notable politicians, but there doesn't seem to be regular coverage of the officeholders other than incidental quotes here and there. Not a significant position worthy of inherent notability. --Dhartung | Talk 17:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep While Murphy is not currently a figure of national attention, he does draw much attention in the Indiana area. Also, as mentioned earlier, many of the chairs do go on to become notable politicians. So should we wait to create the article until then? I say no. Keep the article and expand/improve as the career progresses. Perhaps the sometimes known as The Midnight Fellator could be removed unless cited. Joeraybray (talk) 20:03, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
