Re: WP:AWB

Thanks for looking over my application. Nicholas Perkins (TC) 21:42, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Re:AWB question

It can be used on any wiki.   jj137 (talk) 03:43, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

My immediate reaction was that since he has less than 500 edits here he should be declined, but I later went back and approved him because he has well over 1000 on de:. The English wikipedia is the only place you can be approved for AWB, so sometimes users from other languages (with over 500 edits there) will request approval here, and they should be approved.   jj137 (talk) 04:30, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome

It's my pleasure. And thank you so much for the barnstar! Have a great weekend, JNW (talk) 19:10, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

No problem. - Rjd0060 (talk) 19:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Ditto per above--Antonio Lopez (talk) 19:22, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Blocked

Per CheckUser evidence, I've blocked this account as a sock puppet of EpicFlame (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). Ryan Postlethwaite 00:09, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Party/Archives2008 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Excuse me? Sock puppet accusations? I deny those accusations! I reject these accusations. I wonder if it's possible to appeal this issue to a meditation comitee. My ISP has a extremely wide IP range that covers a lot of Class A and Class B IP's.

Decline reason:

No admin can overturn this block. Your only course would be to email arbcom-l@lists.wikimedia.org. east.718 at 05:21, February 24, 2008

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Notes from Deskana

The Arbitration Committee received a request for unblock from this user via e-mail. On my discussion with this user, the following was noted;

  1. He openly admit to flooding #wikipedia-en to me on IRC. He said "i used to botnet #wikipedia for giggles", then "now i rarely do it", rarely being the operative word there. He was not even remotely apologetic.
  2. When I said I was declining his unblock, he said "I'm involving a crat anyway". I told him that not only am I a bureaucrat, but that they had nothing to do with unblocks. He then said he wanted to ask the community for an unblock. I told him you can't ask ArbCom, get it declined, then ask someone else until you get the answer you want.
  3. When I again told him I was declining his unblock, he started insulting me. He said he'd appeal to Jimbo (also calling Jimbo a name in the process). He then offered me $2000 to unblock him. I'm pretty sure that wasn't serious.

Given the above, it is the recommendation of the Committee that the community be aware this user has indicated they will seek to forum shop, and that unblocking should be done only upon communal consensus that the block no longer serves to protect the project.

For the Arbitration Committee,

Deskana (talk) 21:21, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Also, given his disruptive behaviour on this page, I do not believe he has Wikipedia's best intentions at heart. --Deskana (talk) 21:35, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
I have disabled the use of the Emailuser function on this account. Please do not e-mail other bureaucrats trying to get them to rename you. You are blocked, you are not allowed to edit. --Deskana (talk) 23:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
