The Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad is a now-defunct rail company that was a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railroad for its operations connecting the two cities in its name. Originally, it was known as the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad. Its name was changed to LA&SL in 1916. The LA&SL came under the control of the UP in 1921, and was leased to UP in 1936, and merged by UP in 1987.
