Mankessim is an urban commercial centre located in the Central region of Ghana, West Africa.It is the traditional headquarters of the Fantse community of Ghana. Mankessim's rich history is linked to three great warriors,OBRUMANKOMA, ODAPAGYAN & OSON, who helped the people's migration to Adoagyir. The community is famous in Ghana for four main reasons. First it is the traditional paramouncy for all the fantse speaking people and is linked to the famous great Nananom Pow (sacred grove) near Obidan. Secondly, it has a large market that attracts traders from Ghana and beyond. Thirdly, it's traditional security organization known as the Asafo Companies has been in existence for years unend. Lastly, the community has good quality cultural performing groups that caters for both local and foreign audience. It is also a home to a single community with the highest number of quality mobile discos, poularly known as spinners in Ghana.
