A Meshrep (Chinese: 麦西来甫) is a traditional Uighur and Central Asian autumn harvest festival. It consists of a social gathering with a feast followed by the singing of songs and recital of poetry[1].

The banning of the traditional Mesreps by Chinese authorities in 1997, which had only been allowed since 1994, was one of the main causes of the Gulja incident[2].
