As far as I know, that's their only relevance. They are the living grandparents of Barack Obama. (But I can't edit him because he's locked.) However, the details of Sarah Obama's life are interesting, as is the fact that she lives in a remote Kenyan village and that Obama has visited her. [[User:GreekParadise]] |

Thanks. As you know, I very much respect your views as well. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. The section was stable for 2 1/2 days (a record?) but seems convoluted now. I must agree with Ferrylodge, who wrote in history "Restoring bridge section. This section was the subject of extremely lengthy discussion. Changes need to be discussed at talk page, because they raise problems." He and I worked hard on a compromise. Once an editor (and it wasn't you, it was one before you)disturbs a consensus, the section quickly grows with lots of editing. Then I'm sure folks will want to condense again. Such is wikipedia. My main goal is that no content is deleted. So I'll wait a day or two and then look it over when things calm down a bit. I generally don't delete content unless, as with Ferrylodge, folks insist on deleting content because it's "too long." Please look at it now. I personally think it is much clearer and informative. As you say, this is Wikipedia. I do not mean to denigrate a compromise worked out by you and Ferrylodge, but any wikipedia article is going to be worked on my other editors. AGF also means that other editors can improve on a compromise. In my edits I removed a minimum of content, and only added content that was consistent with NPOV. I think the way to judge changes is not based on how far they diverge from a compromise worked out by two editors, but (1) clarity and readibility - and I acknowledge you and I may have different styles (and if we could work together to make the section read in a way both of us found clear, I would be glad - but do note, others were dissatisfied with the way the passage read) and (2) compliance with core content policies. :I think your recent draft is much better than the prior one. As I said, my main concern has always been for content. I know the part about beluga whales was taken out. I'll just look to see if anything else is, and if so, restore the lost content.
