Pima Canyon is located at the end of Magee Road just to the east of the Oro Valley town limit and north of the major desert city, Tucson. The canyon ranges from 2,900 at its base and 7,255 feet at its highest point (Mount Kimball). The Pima Spring is located near the Pima Saddle at approximately 5,200 feet of elevation and flows six months of the year (usually after large rain or snowmelt deposits) throughout the canyon and into the nearby (normally dry) Rillito River in the Tucson Valley. When hiking east up the canyon and looking right up the 7.1 mile Pima Canyon Trail, you will see Rosewood Point (4,300 feet), Prominent point (6,700 feet), and Mount Kimball (7,255 feet). On the left (north) side will be Pusch Peak (5,362 feet), Bighorn Mountain (5,600 feet), Table Mountain (6,200 feet), and Wolf's Teeth. The other side of Finger Rock, just east of Prominent Point, is visible for the last 2 miles of the trail, but is not accessible without venturing off the marked Pima Canyon Trail.
