Richard Alsop (1761–1815) was an American merchant and author.
Richard Alsop was born January 23, 1761. His father was also named Richard Alsop (1727–1776). His mother was Abigail Sackett.[1] He was a member of the group called the Hartford Wits, and contributed verse to the Political Greenhouse and the Echo.[2]
His sister Abigail Alsop married Theodore Dwight (1764-1846). He married Mary Wyllis and died on August 20, 1815 in Long Island, New York.[1]
