Ruben Mikael Aharonian or Aharonyan (born 1947, Riga, Latvian SSR) is a Armenian classical violinist. He has won Enescu Competition in Bucharest and Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (1974, second prize). He is a Professor of Yerevan State Conservatory and the 1st violinist of Borodin Quartet since 1996.
Aharonyan studied at the Moscow State Conservatory with Professor Yuri Yankelevich, then he was a student of Leonid Kogan. In 1981 Aharonyan became the director of National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia. He has toured throughout Europe, North and South America.
