It is traditionally a dish mostly prepared by German-speaking people and I think that therefore the German name should be primarily used. Even the article in the Italian Wikipedia uses the German name and states that "mezzelune" is a way in which it could be translated to Italian. Being from this region, I'm not sure if this dish even has an official name... undo
