Undergraduate Section

The description of the undergraduate section is very technical (e.g. 383 students admitted). Rather than update the description when the school admits 384 students, why not just provide an overview and reference the school's documentation (e.g., website) for the more technical details?Dtorgerson (talk) 12:01, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rankings Section

For clarity's sake, I have deleted a discussion from about two years ago [ Verily, it it will endure in the history section forever! Faith departed!  ;) ]. This rankings section has two parts: Global & Specialised. The Global half is in both senses of the word; namely, it is a worldwide and comprehensive comparison. With all the schools compared over several (3+) criteria, it becomes a true apples-vs-apples comparison. On the other hand, the specialised section offers important information about regional rankings. Sometimes, all one needs to know is who the biggest fish is in the local pond! What's more, narrower issues/specialities, such as being the best in Quantitative Finance or Organisational Behaviour can be shown here. These rankings, too, are apples-vs-apples ones, but the trouble with mixing the two sections is creating an apples-vs-oranges situation. In other words, the rankings themselves cannot be readily compared.

We cannot close our eyes to the raison d'etre of B-School rankings. Their purveyors and the schools themselves have marketing & commercial interests which run counter to the core values of Wikipedia. Many (well-intentioned) editors have cherry picked the rankings that put their school in the most favourable light. Picking and choosing like that is a little suspect because students have paid mucho to enter these schools and they can have self-interest at heart. Believe me, many hiring bonuses are tied to the reputation of a candidate's B-School.

The form is organised just as the content is. Add data about the latest rank, the change from last year and the three-year moving average. Add it with the most recent stuff at the top. In this way, the data becomes real, usable information that well serves Wikipedia's general readership.

So, please add as many rankings --big and small-- that you can (I notice editors have let this section go a little bare). Try out these conventions on other school's Wiki pages. See if there is a "meme" quality to them! Cheers! COYW (talk) 00:59, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Someone please add Schulich's logo. I believe that there is a free-to-use logo out there, for example: Brands of the World. I'm not very good with Wikipedia, so I have no idea how to add photos to articles. Thanks! Monfri (talk) 05:55, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
