Hope you're back soon!

I was sorry to read that you have to take a wikibreak, so I hope you'll be back soon. All the best, —Scott5114 05:09, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you =) I've been very busy IRL, and also a bit disillusioned with this project as of late. =/ I'll probably be concentrating more on Commons and OTRS related work for the foreseeable future. --krimpet 07:24, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My recent RfA

Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace, so that is what I will do. I will go for another RfA in two month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been two months. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! -- Cobi(t|c|b|cn) 01:59, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The mention of that website on my talkpage

I suppose you must realize that I really don't want to discuss anything about that website on my talkpage, nor do I condone administrative harassment such as your "final warning" nonsense. I have every right to defend myself from ongoning mischaracterizations and POINTY trolling and will continue to do so. This will be my only post to your talkpage and I hope you understand that you are unwelcome to post on mine and hope you don't leave vile threats to me as you did there again. This decision is about to close...please adhere to it. Thanks.--MONGO 16:15, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MONGO block

Hi Krimpet. MONGO is part of 7 diamonds' ArbCom case and the block will only make things harder for the community. Please consider unblocking. -- FayssalF - Wiki me up® 19:20, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • From reading your comment on MONGO's talk page, it appears that you blocked him because he failed to acknowledge your "final warning". Since he removed said warning from his talk page, one must assume that he saw and read it before he removed it. I am not aware of any policy or guideline that requires someone being warned to acknowledge that warning, or be blocked for it. MONGO has been unblocked per consensus at WP:ANI. - Crockspot 19:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • The relevant policy would appear to be, if you talk back to Krimpet, Krimpet will make you pay.Proabivouac 20:35, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Okay, guys? The block's been lifted now, so the fun's over. Less of the snarky comments please - Alison 20:41, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(ec)Hi Krimpet! I understand the frustrations that the user can cause, and hope that there won't be excessive piling on from others. If you feel up to it, you could add your thoughts to the SoD Rarbcomm. Though that is getting into the can with the worms for sure....--Rocksanddirt 20:46, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for being so on the ball with things. Like 30 secs after reporting him, you had him blocked. Nice when that happens. Xiong Chiamiov :: contact :: 06:00, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain your rationale behind this block? I can't see any trolling whatsoever? ViridaeTalk 06:16, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The User page Swastika and the "Oy!" preceding his question about editing Adolf Hitler constitute trolling by any reasonable standard. I find it odd, even bizarre, Viridae, that you threaten to block MONGO, but feel compelled to defend this kind of thing.Proabivouac 06:21, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Oy" I took to mean "Oi". ViridaeTalk 06:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Besides the difference in spelling, that interpretation is inconsistent with the sense of the following remark.[1]Proabivouac 06:27, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No it isnt - Oi! Can you help me? Oi! Why did you do that? It is a commonly used call of attention. ViridaeTalk 08:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This exclamation is and is widely understood to be Yiddish in origin; its usage here is anti-Semitic and parodical.Proabivouac 08:34, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly that was the intended meaning, but as I already pointed out I took it to mean something different. Regardles, why are you arguing, they are unblocked now and I have no doubt multiple people are watching - if they do turn out to be disruptive they will be quickly dealt with. If they don't turn out to be disruptive then I have unblocked an innocent contributor... I personally fail to see any problems whatsoever. ViridaeTalk 08:39, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict x2) His first edit was to add an ASCII swastika to their userpage — clearly a trollish move. Then his second edit was to ask someone why Adolf Hitler is protected. I like to assume good faith, but in this case it's clear that a duck is a duck. =/ --krimpet 06:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Kids and their hitler obsessions - assume good faith. There is the possibility he is just there to cause trouble - but there is also the possibility he just a kid with a nazi obsession who actually wants to contribute something to his favourite subject. ViridaeTalk 06:25, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Then unblock him, Viridae.Proabivouac 06:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was asking Krimpet's opinion, and would rather hear back from her on the subject of my doubts before I do so. ViridaeTalk 06:29, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...okay, I give up. I try to do my small part to help cultivate a civil and cooperative atmosphere for building this encyclopedia, but it just doesn't seem to be worth the time and effort at this point. --krimpet 06:46, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Krimpet, for the most part I agree with you - and while I don't think blocking MONGO was correct on that occasion, I think I would have blocked about 4-5 of them for edit warring on a policy page had I been there at the time. One of my things is not biting newcomers - which is why I have unblocked. ViridaeTalk 06:48, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For what it's worth, I thought it was a wholly appropriate block (I wouldn't have declined the unblock request otherwise). I just don't care enough to argue about it.--chaser - t 07:43, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jarlaxle

Apparently this guy is still active--see this vandalism report on Meta. Blueboy96 20:59, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That report seems to have been added two years ago, with no additional updates since; I do not think this vandal is active anymore. --krimpet 21:25, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

USRD inactivity notification

You have been declared inactive at USRD. If this is in error, feel free to restore yourself to the list, but only if you are truly active at USRD. Regards, Rschen7754 (T C) 21:21, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
