The Muppets have joined forces with Mickey Mouse. The Jim Henson Company, creator of beloved characters Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear, in 2004 sold those assets, along with all their rights and entertainment libraries, to Walt Disney. The Muppets helped The Jim Henson Company gain worldwide acclaim in family entertainment for more than four decades. The company's units include Jim Henson Television, Jim Henson Pictures, Jim Henson Interactive, and Jim Henson's Creature Shop (a creature-building workshop for its own company as well as others). Jim Henson died in 1990; his son Brian and daughter Lisa run the company, which was founded in 1958. In 2003 Jim Henson Company inked a deal with MGM(Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures) to co-produce live action movies.
