Sukachev, Vladimir Nikolayevich (1880 Aleksandrovka (Potsdam)-1967 Moscow) is a Russian geobotanist, engineer, geographer, corresponding member (1920) and full member (1943) of the AS USSR. In 1919-1941 it headed the department of dendrology and systematics of the plants of forest institute in St Peterburg (Leningrad), created by him, in 1941-1943 he managed the department of the biological sciences of Ural forestry institute in Sverdlovsk. In the system of the AS USSR institute of the forest (1944, now the institute of forest and wood of SO AN SSSR - Siberian Department of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Krasnoyarsk), which led up to 1959, the laboratory of forestry An.sssr (1959) and the laboratory of biogeocenology with the botanical institute of the AS USSR (1965).
